When considering what are the most important accessories to purchase with your bike, I like to think of the three S's. Shorts(covered in another blog), Saddle(another blog) and Shoes. This blog is about Shoes, specifically women's road shoes. I have seen a lot of people, myself included, try to save money on shoes, for them to hang around for years. Your shoes don't tend to wear out that quickly and will stay with you for years to come, especially if you avoid walking on gravel or pavement with them on. I had a pair of Sidi shoes which I loved. Recently the brand became a little too pricey for me. So after riding Sidi for 7 years, I have purchased a pair of Shimano SH-WR84 Women's road shoe.
FULL-FEATURE RACE PERFORMANCE SHOE WITH OPTIMIZED COMFORT AND PURE PEDALING PERFORMANCE
What's the weight difference, even though the Shimano felt much lighter, when I weighed them they came in pretty similar.
Overall, I loved the fit of the shoe. The straps create a glove like fit. The sole is stiff and responsive when you want to kick up the speed. No heal slip what so ever. The shoe comes in half sizes letting you get the perfect fit. With the price point coming in cheaper than that of the Sidi, this is the perfect women's cycling shoe.
I would have to agree with Bike radars verdict,"Light, yet supportive, rigid where they need to be, and soft where it counts".
Shimano offers a full line of women's shoes, something to fit everyones riding style and budget.
I Love cycling. Love to explore on my bike. Love to explore food that fuels my ride.
